Fri, 20 November 2009 “The women come, the women go, talking of Michaelangelo...” The words would not leave Jonathon alone, not even now when he was finally here upon the beach. It was evening. The sunset flared in streaks of carnival colors, broad bands of red, orange and purple transforming the evening sky into a circus tent. From further down the beach came the sounds of revelers, college-aged men and women who flocked to Florida every year to participate in the bacchanal rights of Spring Break. He was separated from them -- always separated from the beautiful, the popular, the lucky -- by an expanse of rocky outcroppings that set this particular section of the seashore apart. Here in this isolated cove, turquoise waves swept across golden sands, each influx of the tide depositing a mermaid upon the beach... Fri, 13 November 2009 “Harry Simcowicz, you philandering son of a bitch! I’d kill you if you weren’t already dead!” These words were hissed almost simultaneously by two very angry women dressed in widow’s blacks. One of the women -- a short, full figured dumpling with flaming red hair and dimpled cheeks -- stood at the head of the casket. This was Marie, Harry’s wife. The other woman -- tall and slender like a sapling with an aquiline nose that dominated her narrow face -- stood at the foot of the casket. This was Jolie, Harry’s **other** wife... Fri, 6 November 2009 That night, after the argument, Maxwell sat at his desk, plugged into his computer and discovered a virtual forest of iridescent trees that grew, and grew, and grew, until the real world was swept away and all of cyberspace replaced the ceiling and walls around him and a binary sea with a private yacht tumbled through his mind. Fearless, he stepped into the boat and sailed through night and day, across vast expanses of data and terabytes of simulated environments until he reached a pixilated tropical island where the Wild Things are... Fri, 30 October 2009 He had been at Miskatonic University too long, Morgan decided. Though he had only been teaching there for three years, it felt as though he’d spent a sordid lifetime there. He should have left before the start of the new term, before the place corroded his soul any further. Now, he feared it was too late... Fri, 16 October 2009 Veronica slid her tongue inside Betty’s mouth, gently probing before suddenly biting down on her lover’s lower lip. Betty yelped and tried to draw back, but Veronica was having none of that. She yanked on the leash and brought Betty to heel. “Stay!” she commanded. She reached up to tease the pouting blonde’s nipples. “Now beg.” Betty rolled her eyes but complied. She’d learned long ago, during her freshman year at Miskatonic, if she did what the domineering brunette ordered, she always had the best orgasms later. A little humiliation and roll play was well worth the mind blowing sensation of Veronica’s tongue on her clit... Thu, 8 October 2009 At three o’clock, the midnight of the soul, there came a tapping at the window pane. Lenore threw open the sash to the moonless sky and let in a whirlwind of black feathers and despair. It settled on the floor before her and took the shape of a shadow of a man. “Lenore,” said the shadow, bowing. “You have called for my services.” “Yes.” She covered her face with pale hands. “God forgive me. You know what I want. Will you do it?” Episode 106: Never Say Nevermore Lustcraft theme, 370 words Future Perfect: A Collection of Fantastic Erotica, is available on Amazon.com! Fri, 2 October 2009 “Now, let’s see if we can get things right this time, shall we?” Martha spoke to the corpse of her late lover, Herbert West. She loved Herbert. In life, he’d been a brilliant man, a font of forbidden knowledge and dangerous experimentation. His death had left Martha devastated, and she simply had to have him back, no matter what. Fortunately, Herbert had left her his notes on one of his more ambitious experiments, and now Martha was going to put his theories to the test. She held up a syringe full of a green glowing fluid, tapped it to release any air bubbles, and then plunged the needle into Herbert’s cold, dead arm... Fri, 25 September 2009 When I graduated from college, my dad, the former all-star college athlete turned grouchy arm-chair quarterback, threw me out of the house as hard and as fast as he could. “You got an education!” he grunted as he kicked me out the front door and through the goal posts of life. “You got five thousand in the bank. Now go out and get a job!” So with bags packed by Mom, I headed out into the real world and did reasonably well for someone with a liberal arts degree. I found a job in advertising at small local newspaper, where I busted my ass for ten years, earning 5-10% commission on every column inch of ad space I sold. I made enough to buy a new car, pay rent on a tiny single bedroom apartment, and take myself out to eat a couple times a month. I wasn’t rich, but I was making ends meet and I was out on my own, out from under Dad’s tyrannical thumb. Life was good. Then the economy tanked and my American dream went straight down the toilet... Episode 104: A Room With A View Mundania theme, 12300 words This week’s promo is for J. Daniel Sawyer’s Down From 10 podcast novel. It’s like the Shining meets Clue... sort of. Fri, 18 September 2009 “Hey Randall! Why don’t you strap your saddle on ol’ Pony Boy there? He looks like he could use a good riding.” Blaine and Philip doubled over with laughter, their guffaws oddly muffled by the unremitting drone of cicadas. The cloying smell of honeysuckle hung thick in the air, but beneath it laid the tang of dying leaves and the earthy scent of manure. It was mid October and Indian summer still held sway at Polk’s stables. Migrating college students with a taste for horses had long since packed up their bags and headed back to Yale or Harvard or whatever Ivy League it was their daddies paid for. Only Blaine, Philip, and I remained behind. And Pony Boy, of course, whose real name was Tyrell...
